How/Where to Learn?

For those seeking to get into paragliding or one of the equally exciting sports of hang gliding, powered paragliding or microlight flight - you will find all the resources you need relating to schools across the country on the SAFA website.

There is only one flying school at present in Tasmania. Paragliding Tasmania is currently operational for tandem paragliding experiences, trial instructional flights, PG licence courses, guided flying (open to SAFA licenced pilots) and retail sales of gear and merchandise.

Paragliding and hang gliding are inherently dangerous sports, especially if attempted without training. However, with good instruction and steady, staged progression a long career of safe flying is possible.

Paragliding without a licence is illegal in Australia.
